What you would expect to find on a designers blog is tons of posts on unique art and things that look cool. But.. i always forget to take a pic when i do stumble across these things. so more than likely, thats not what you will find here. As im adding more and more effects in AE im realizing that relying on the objects to sync with the audio is not enough to create the effect i want. So i find myself adding special effects and syncing them with the dancers movements, manually.. frame by frame… My AE window loos soooo intimidating with all these keyframes.. there has to be a better way? im just not aware of it. either way its producing the results i need and i need results fast, its week 8
HUGE SET BACK. I felt like i wasnt getting enough work done so far in order to keep up with the schedule i made myself. So i called out sick from work and i set up shop in the lab early wednesday morning. I made a LOT of progress i was actually almost certain that i might get be able to rotoscope the entire video. I didnt leave until 11 and i was drowsy and completely out of it aparently because I forgot to save any of it. I just left lab let it on the desktop and went home. When i went back all of it was gone. Complete waste of day and extremely discouraging.
NSFW lots of cursing! but hilarious and exactly how im feeling right now. I just got done rejoicing that it was only 2AM when my friend sent this to me. And yes im rotoscoping
i dont know how this came to me exactly but I decided to use a large yellow line going across the bottom of the screen and have it move fluidly along with his body. All i can think of as far as animating it is the mesh distortion. lets see how that goes

making some progress with the rotoscope but my hands are falling apart…. i havent added any more graphical elements to it. Since i realize its highly unlikely ill be able to rotoscope the entire video i want to get as much done as possible.
WORK IN PROGRESS: take a glance into my process
For this class we had to create our own project. For this project we had to create a proprosal and a timeline. Address a design problem and present it with a solution and check in with the teacher every week to make sure we are sticking to the milestones we laid out for ourselves. Since I am trying to break into the motion graphics field I chose an experimental music video with a rotoscoped character.
I seriously underestimated the amount of frames and work that would need to be done for this but I am having a ton of fun doing it. Although my right hand does feel a bit decrepit from all the drawing involved lol. Rain or shine, the show must go on. Deadlines dont care about arthritis.
so far so good. I have the intro drawn out and Ive placed it in AfterEffects. this is what it looks like so far.
My teachers don’t care however, lol. So it is has been serious crunch time ever since i got back. Ill be uploading some works in progress that I handed in this past week. Mostly these were rushed for a deadline Im definitely going to revisit and improve them based on what I myself didn’t like and feedback from critiques.
Needless to say school started and its been hell. Mainly because ill be gone for a week, and lucky me - that week theres 3 projects due. So im working on handing in as much work as possible a week ahead of time. So havent had much time to post here.
Havent had a chance to work on my kinetic typography project for Dakota Skye either =(.
im promising myself that once i get back i will set at least 45 minutes a day aside everyday until its done.
on a happier note.. ENGLAND FOR A WEEK :) nice weather too. cant wait. gone in 2 days.
Exercise Express
Currently working on creating a Full Press Kit for a new exercise studio opening up next week. Definite rush order but its working out. Right now I have a temporary site up but hopefully the full site will be up by the end of the week
